P. Hope Brannon: Fossils of Time

Traveling Exhibition

Alabama artist, Hope Brannon translates her experiences with the natural world into bold, powerful artworks. The exhibition features approximately 29 framed bas-relief paintings and 9 frottages that embrace her relationship to a sense of place.

This exhibition casts a different light on the idea of place, land and its artifacts; introducing the dichotomy of the visual landscape and places charged with memory, meaning, and their hidden artifacts and energy. The work incorporates ancient ideas, technology, geology, astronomy, archeology, ecological events or fossilized life forms, and connects them with our own contemporary culture and innovations.
